Hunter was asked in view of site redevelopment plan (£12M), to consider the development in terms of the IT implications on the site campus.

The Problem

The Corporate business had plans to re-develop the whole site. This development of the Wirral Campus involved demolitions and new builds on the site. The IT implicated due to demolitions, needed consideration. Hunter was approached to help.

The Solution

Hunter was engaged to consider the redevelopment plan and survey the existing site IT infrastructure. Our survey established that demolition of certain buildings would result in loss of voice and data services for multiple buildings on site. Our findings shown significant links and resilience built into the IT infrastructure.

The report identified that an alternative communications room would be needed. It was identified that the new infrastructure would need to be in place prior to any demolitions, to ensure no loss of IT services. Significant efforts and procurement of infrastructure components would need to be arranged as some services such as Broadband, were on long deliveries.

Achievements

A findings report compiled by Hunter, included recommendations with a topology diagram and a detailed Gantt Chart presenting the recommended course of action in view of the development. In the report Hunter identified critical items necessary to be procured in readiness for the demolitions and redevelopment
