Laboratory build in vacated empty offices, 2nd floor CBA Wrexham

Old offices were identified for new laboratories. Hunter completed the D&B at the Production Site in Wrexham.
The Problem
Space was allocated on a second floor of a five-storey building by the customer. The floor allocated was originally used for office staff workers. Laboratories and clean room change area, inclusive of fume cupboards was required. Drainage to the room had to be devised and this involved modifications to the site drainage network at FFL. Services and layouts devised, initiated, and agreed with on-site working groups.
The Solution
Following consultation and schemes compiled by hunter a specification was compiled. A fast-track approach to the build was essential as research and testing work was needed. A window for the customer’s product testing needed to be met for business needs. Testing from this facility on the product was essential
Achievements
Hunter delivered the build, both internally and externally as ground works were completed on drainage modifications, on time and within budget. The Pandemic and the availability of specialist contractors became a challenge, overcome with alternative suppliers, drive and energy from the team.
