Overview
To extend a Bonded Warehouse to create an Airlock for Forklift Truck access to maintain the internal temperature and access security.
The Problem
Products within the warehouse are required to be maintained within certain temperature parameters, however whist accessing the warehouse via a fast action door the warehouse was exposed to external temperatures.
The Solution
Hunters extended the warehouse to create a ramp and air lock for FLT access, with two doors interlocked to maintain the internal temperatures, this entailed piling to support the concrete base, structural steel and cladding to match the existing exterior along with HVAC and Electrical modifications.
Achievements
Temporary walk in fridges and freezers were installed to contain the product during construction. The project was carried out to the exacting standards of the Architect, in a limited programme period and within budget
